Highlights from this month’s list

I would consider this month’s offers to be on the leaner side. There’s nothing to/from Europe at all, not too unsurprising given July is when many Europeans travel for summer holidays. There’s still some redemptions to be had of course, for example:

  • Singapore to Hong Kong vv, both Economy and Business, at 11,550 and 23,800 miles one-way respectively (limited to the SQ894/895 flight pair)
  • Sydney to Singapore Business class for 47,950 on SQ212 and SQ232 (some blackout dates apply)
  • Christchurch to Singapore Business class for 47,950

The Sydney-Singapore offer (there’s no Singapore-Sydney offer) might be appealing for some if you can work around the blackout dates. SQ232 is now operated by the A380 with the 2017 Business class seat (below), so that’s the flight to go for if you’re eyeing this offer.

SQ894/895 is back for a July, after a temporary hiatus when the A380 was moved to the morning SQ892/893 rotation. The SQ894/895 now utilises the 777-300ER rather than the A380 which I flew in February, but the 2013 Business class seat is still a pretty good product.

If Business class on a relatively short route feels like overkill, there’s the aforementioned Economy discount, as well as Premium Economy for 18,550 miles. Again this is limited to the SQ894/895 flight pair. Likewise, there’s Premium Economy available Sydney-Singapore too, for 35,700 miles, limited to SQ212 and SQ232 as with the Business class offer.

Relatively slim pickings within Southeast Asia for those looking for a quick, nearby getaway (some blackout dates apply):

  • Singapore to KL Economy class: 5,950 miles
  • Jakarta to Singapore Business: 14,700 miles (SQ951 only, terrible timing!)
  • Singapore to Surabaya vv, Business: 14,700 miles (SQ922/923 only)
  • Singapore to Manila vv, Economy: 9,450 miles (ex-SIN SQ912, 916 and 918 only, ex-MNL all flights)
  • Singapore to Manila vv, Business: 16,800 miles (same flight restrictions as per above)
  • Singapore to Ho Chi Minh vv, Economy: 9,450 miles (ex-SIN SQ184 and 186 only, ex-SGN SQ177 and 183 only)
  • Singapore to ho Chi Minh vv, Business: 16,800 miles (same flight restrictions as Economy)
  • Singapore to Siem Reap vv, Economy: 9,450 miles

Other than the routes I’ve highlighted so far, there’s a usual handful of Economy class offers for China and West Asia region (India and Bangladesh for this month). There’s a number of Business class discounts too, with Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, New Delhi (ex-SIN only) and Dhaka featuring. There’s no Business class discounts to/from China at all. There are some Premium Economy offers to these regions, namely Chengdu, Shanghai, Mumbai and New Delhi (ex-SIN only).

You can also refer to Singapore Airlines’ website for the full list.

Conclusion

The July 2023 KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes list has been released. A bit of a lean month in my opinion. As always, limited redemption space available and all bookings must be ticketed by 30 June, so act fast if there’s a destination on the list that catches your eye.
