Welcome to my new blog! Soon to be the home of news, insights and personal reviews of all things aviation and travel.
About Me
I’m an aviation and travel enthusiast based in Singapore. In the few years leading up to Covid-19, I did around 100,000 miles of flying on average per year for work and personal reasons. I had the pleasure of working in a dream job in one of the world’s best airlines which shall remain unnamed (though it should be quite obvious), including a stint in its Customer Experience department. Having said that, I found myself increasingly frustrated by what I could and could not say publicly about my travel experiences. Hence the birth of this blog. I hope that my experiences may be useful for my readers as you plan your own travels.
About The Blog
Firstly, I am not a miles and points fanatic. While the use of miles and points figure heavily in my travel and are a factor for consideration in my travel plans, I don’t obsess over maximising my earnings. I won’t be writing too much on earning opportunities and strategies, or valuations, at least at the beginning. I will share my own perspectives on how to use points, and how I have leveraged them to achieve my travel objectives. For me, points and miles are a means to an end, and the key is the using them to achieve the maximum experience.
Aligned with that, I’ll be mainly sharing my thoughts on the latest travel news and it may affect your travel plans. I will also share reviews from my own travels. I hope these will be useful in making your travels better. If you have requests for content you will like to see, feel free to let me know!
What’s Coming Up
I’ve got some great content planned, in the coming days you can look forward to articles on the following:
First up will be reviews from a Round The World trip I took in early Feb, including:
- ANA “The Suite” First Class
- Hilton San Francisco Union Square
- Jetblue new Mint Suite
- Conrad New York Downtown
- TAP Air Portugal A330-900neo Business Class
- Conrad London St. James
I’ve got a trip to Thailand planned, where I’ll be reviewing Singapore Airlines’ 737 MAX Business Class, and a selection of hotels in Phuket and Bangkok. Looking further ahead, Sydney/Melbourne and Bali are on the horizon as well.
Besides these reviews, along the way I’ll also give my thoughts on the latest travel news as they emerge.
I’ll also be working to refine the look and feel of the blog, so don’t be surprised if you come back and find a few changes along the way, and I’m grateful for the patience as I aim to turn this into a solid resource for your travels.
Final Thoughts
Welcome again to my blog, and I hope you will find the content useful.
